Frequently asked questions

At what age should children trace numbers?

Most children start tracing numbers around age 3–4 and write 0–10 on their own by the end of kindergarten. Tracing 11–20 usually comes in kindergarten.

Why does my child write numbers backwards?

Reversing numbers like 2, 3, 7 and 9 is normal until about age 7. Regular tracing with a clear example builds the correct movement.
